Ghana FA spokesman Ibrahim Sannie Daara insists Kwesi Nyantakyi is the best brain to steer the affairs of the federation to the top level of world football.
Nyantakyi, an astute lawyer, has been at the helm of Ghana football for the past 10 years, chalking modest successes during his tenure.
The Wa All Stars owner will challenge for the Ghana FA presidency for the third time this year with football watchers tipping him to retain his seat.
However, the CAF Executive committee member, has come under lots of flak from a section of the Ghanaian media who have accused him of doing little to enhance the game during his tenure.
He has been accused him amongst others of contributing to the perceived decline of the local league.
While Ghana FA spokesman Ibrahim Sannie admits the criticism has helped to shape the association, outright lies and negative propaganda has the propensity to destroy the reputation of widely respected men at the FA.
The former BBC presenter insists Nyantakyi is the best brain to steer the affairs of Ghana football at the moment, stressing football is not like politics which requires a specific time-limit to exit.
“How do you change the winning man who has helped the Ghana Football Association and the nation through the Black Stars to reach the world market? he quizzed, adding “you keep your best brains because football is not run like a political party which requires time-limit” he told Okay FM
“Sepp Blatter is approaching his 90’s and he still contesting the next election. So in football terms, when you have the best brain who is leading, don’t say they should be changed but rather you urge them to stay…allow him to run the football; it is God who has put him in that position.”
Nyantakyi has led Ghana to three World Cup appearances and won two silver medals and a bronze during his 10-year spell.
He was also in charge when Ghana became the first African country to win the World Youth Championship in 2009.
He has secured multiple sponsorship deals for the Black Stars and the local league.
