Kotoko will honour their last two Premier League games contrary to reports of a looming boycott, the club has announced.

The soon-to-be dethroned champions are livid with a judicial decision to dock them six points after they were found guilty of fielding an unqualified player during their Premier League clash against Hearts last month.

Striker Obed Owusu was deemed unqualified to play, leading to the deduction of the points in a landmark ruling on Tuesday.

The development has sparked widespread reports that the Porcupine Warriors will boycott the remaining two matches of the league after they shipped into the relegation trap net.

But the club’s board chairman Paul Adu-Gyamfi has rebuffed such suggestions insisting the club will honour the two games.

“Our advice to our players is to concentrate on our next game. We have to prepare for it. We haven’t taking any decision yet on our involvement in the league,” he told Kumasi-based Nhyira FM

“We are going to honour the match. If we don’t it infringes on the rules of the game. Our focus is to prepare for the two matches left and see what we can do.”

Kotoko must negotiate wins against Hasaacas and Aduana Stars to secure their top-flight status which is currently hanging on a thread.
