Asante Kotoko coach Mas-Ud Dramani admits his side were second best after opening their Ghana Premier League title defence with a 1-0 defeat to Aduana Stars in Dormaa on Sunday.

The Porcupine Warriors looked out of sort and could not recover from a 13th minute goal scored by striker Richard Arhin.

Many of Kotoko’s players did not come to the party with striker Ahmed Toure, Obed Owusu and Richard Mpong.

The defeat preserved the status quo with Kotoko still without a win in six visits to Dormaa against the Fire Boys.

“Once again the historians had it right. We had worked hard and hoping to improve our record but that wasn’t to be. We will work hard and look to our next match,” Dramani said.

Kotoko are in winning in midweek to get their campaign on track against Sekondi Hasaacas at the Baba Yara Stadium.
