Asante Kotoko board chairman Paul Adu Gyamfi has lashed against the violent conduct of the club’s fans in the wake of the side’s recent poor form.
Kotoko have struggled to win games at the start of the second half of the season to heighten pressure on coach David Duncan and his players.
The champions slumped to 9th in the Ghanaian top flight and the fans feels some of the players and people in management need to go.
Some of the fans hurled abusive words and even attempted to attack the players in their last Premier League defeat to Liberty Professionals.
Board chairman Adu Gyamfi insists the fans were wrong in resorting to violence as a means of expressing their disappointment.
"There is no supporter of football who enjoys the defeat of his team," he said.
"But then for them to resort to attacking the players, management and the board is not proper.
"Fans must remain supportive regardless of whatever happens to their team."
The pressure on the team seems to have eased a bit following Kotoko’s win over regional rivals AshantiGold to progress to the semi finals of the MTN FA Cup.
