Suspended Ghana international midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng seems to be rediscovering his good form as he set up Schalke 04's only goal in their 1-0 slim win over Borussia M'gladbach in the German Bundesliga on Friday night.

The 27-year-old had held down his place in Roberto Di Matteo's starting squad after impressing in the stalemate against Bayern Munich in Mid-week.

Boateng perfectly collected a through-ball inside of the box and squared for Jubilar Barnetta and the Swiss midfielder, who was making his 250th Bundesliga appearance clinically buried his effort for the first goal.

The performance on Friday night will build Boateng's confidence and help him to rediscover his form if he stays focused.

The assist was just his second of the season in 10 league appearances and is yet to score in any of them.

His international career is on a break after he was suspended by Ghana following a brawl in the Black Stars camp in Brazil.

Schalke manager Di Matteo praised Boateng and his team-mates for their performance after the game.

"We're missing a lot of players at the moment but we don't want to complain," the coach told Schalke's website after the win.

"Every single individual out there on the pitch tonight gave their all to get the three points. I'm proud of the boys.

"We can be very happy with our start to the second half of the season. We've picked up seven points against three strong opponents."
