Kano Pillars captain, Gambo Mohammed, remains in hospital after a head injury which he sustained in the match day 12 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) game against Rivers United in Port Harcourt on Sunday.
Gambo was substituted in the eight minute of the contest decided at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium after a clash of heads with Rivers United striker, Wilson Andoh.
The attacker was taken in an ambulance to the Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital (BMH), Port Harcourt while the game was still in progress.
Vincent Wachukwu, one of the two official medical doctors of Rivers United, attended to the Kano Pillars captain immediately the incident happened and he said the case was serious.
“It was a serious injury; a rupture of the tympanic membrane.
“It occasioned dizziness and continuous bleeding in his left ear and we had to act fast.
“At no stage was he unconscious but bleeding so we had to refer him for further examination at the BMH where he was received treatment at the accident and emergency unit.
“He spent the (Sunday) night at the VIP ward of the hospital and received top attention from the doctors,
