Maurizio Sarri says taking charge of Juventus is the 'crowning achievement' of a long-spanning and often 'tough' career in management.

Sarri feels he has taken over at the 'best club' in Italy but he is aware that a tough challenge lies ahead in Turin as he attempts to build on the work of Massimiliano Allegri, who left at the end of the season with Juventus having been crowned Serie A champions for the eighth successive time.

Prior to spending last season at Chelsea, Sarri was manager of Napoli for three years, ensuring he knows just how good Juve have been recently in domestic terms.

I feel that I have respected everyone and I gave my all.

"Juve are the best Italian club right now and offered me a chance to return to Italy. It's the crowning achievement of a long career, that for 80 per cent of it was extremely tough," he said.

Having signed a three-year deal with Chelsea last summer, he spent just 12 months in London.

His style of football wasn't always met with complete agreement amongst Blues fans, but Sarri insists he did his best.

Chelsea finished third in the Premier League and won the Europa League last month, defeating London rivals Arsenal 4-1 in Baku, while they lost the Carabao Cup final on penalties to Manchester City.

"The Premier League was a great experience, but in the latter half (of the season), I felt professional and personal needs to return to Italy," Sarri said.

"I feel that I have respected everyone and I gave my all."

Juventus are 8/13 to win Serie A next term, with Antonio Conte's Inter Milan 9/2 and Napoli priced at 11/2.

Sarri will be glad to see things from the other side in his new job.

"For three years (at Napoli) I would wake up and think about how to defeat Juventus, because they were a winning team," he added.

"I gave 110 per-cent, but we still couldn't do it. It was an experience and I will now give everything for this club."
