Super Eagles head Jose Peseiro claimed Nigeria at Mosshod Abiola Stadium on Friday was far better than Guinea Bissau at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Abuja, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Nigeria lost to the Djurtus of Guinea 1-0 being their first home loss in six years in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Peseiro speaking to the media claimed the Super Eagles created “clear opportunities but it was a bad day” despite the visiting goalkeeper, Jonas Mendes hardly making a save.
“We created many, many clear opportunities but it was a bad day.
“If we played in the way we played today, we are supposed to beat Guinea-Bissau.
“Guinea-Bissau were lucky and very bad luck for us.”
The Super Eagles will hope to make amends by beating the Wild Dogs and retain the group's top spot, as they battle Guinea Bissau in a must-win game at the Estádio 24 de Setembro (today) Monday .
