The John Mononia Foundation Charity Foundation Cup Tournament, to give back to society, has seen Jikwoyi Kingdom become the privileged community to benefit from this gesture.

The CEO of the foundation, Capt Mack Agbatut, in his magnanimity, visited His Royal Highness, Rev Dr Bawa S. Jetta, Gaba Yakwo, MACHI I, ESU JIKWOYI Kingdom, and gave him his blessing. This move was facilitated by Sir Aminu Obed Yeminya, Garkuwa of Jikwoyi, who also doubles as the Jikwoyi Football Association/Stadium Coordinator.

The tournament kicked started on the 5th October,2025. In the Jikwoyi Community Central Stadium, Api'akokwoyi, Yeminya Zakwoyi Road, FCT -Abuja, with a total of 20 teams coming from Jikwoyi, Karu, Kpeyegyi, Kurudu, and Oroduz, respectively.

The journey so far has been seamless, though with some pockets of challenges of players' indiscipline. The referees have been professional. The foundation and the tournament aimed to:

  1.  Raise awareness and funds to support our ongoing charity programs for widows, orphans, and struggling families.
  2. Promote peace and togetherness by using football as a universal language that connects people across backgrounds.
  3. Inspire and empower youth, fostering discipline, teamwork, and leadership through active participation.
  4. Encourage a culture of giving, reminding society that generosity and empathy are timeless values.

Our vision is to build a world where compassion drives action — where communities thrive, young people dream boldly, and everyone, regardless of status, has access to opportunity and hope. The tournament came to a close on the 23rd November, 2025. The monetary rewards were as follows: Winners 500k, a set of jerseys, and a trophy 2nd runner up 300k and set of jerseys 3rd 200k and a set of jerseys
