Inter Milan's Ghanaian youth defender Isaac Donkor has expressed his readiness to join Ghana's U20 side if he is handed a call-up.

The 19-year-old central defender, who has appeared for Inter Milan in this season's Uefa Europa League under Roberto Mancini, is in the books of the Black Satellites handlers and could be handed a call-up.

However, Inter Milan could block his chance to join the Ghana U20 squad for the 2015 African Youth Championship which comes off in Senegal due to lack of FIFA obligations.

"I'm ready to join the team if I'm given the invitation to play because Ghana is my country," he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

Ghana's Black Satellites handlers are planning to hand call-up to a number of foreign-based players who fall within the age category due to lack of activity on the Ghanaian local scene.

"We are planning to call most of the players who qualify to play in the tournament," Ghana U20 Management Committee head Winfried Osei has said.

Other players who also qualify for spots in the team include Birmingham City's Koby Arthur, Lokeren's Eugene Ansah, Clifford Aboagye, Portugal-based Bernard Mensah and Emmanuel Okyere Boateng.
