Dammam: India left it late in beating Turkmenistan 3-0 in their final AFC U-19 Championship 2018 Group D qualifying tie at the Prince Mohd Fahad Stadium on Wednesday.
The win ensured India finished third in the group with four points.
Both teams were evenly matched in the first half as the score remained goalless at half time.
The match came to life 14 minutes after the hour mark as India managed to break down Turkmenistan courtesy of Amarjit Singh Kiyam in the 74th minute.
Abhisek Halder made it 2-0 when his effort six minutes later beat Turkmenistan goalkeeper Charyyev Rasul.
India went on to score one more two minutes into stoppage time through Edmund Lalrindika to give them victory while Turkmenistan ended the qualifying campaign without scoring a goal.
