Spain’s triumph in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final has reportedly influenced Tottenham defender Pedro Porro’s thinking over his club future.

The 27-year-old has become Spain’s first-choice right-back, and both Barcelona and Real Madrid watched him closely during the tournament.

According to Football Insider, Porro would be prepared to “seriously consider” joining either of the two El Clasico rivals, despite his importance to Roberto De Zerbi’s Tottenham side.

Porro’s situation has drawn comparisons with Rodri, whose decision to return to Spain was reportedly shaped by the national team’s World Cup success. The veteran midfielder rejected a contract extension at Manchester City, as well as an offer from Real Madrid, before completing a high-profile move to Barcelona.

The prospect of joining his La Roja team-mates at club level was considered a major factor in Rodri’s decision, and Porro could now follow a similar path.

However, any transfer would face a significant obstacle. Porro signed a new contract with Tottenham shortly after the World Cup, keeping him at the North London club until 2031.

Tottenham’s poor form could yet alter the situation, while the former Sporting Lisbon defender is valued at about £60M.
