Fulham have collected only two points from their first six matches under the 43-year-old Spaniard, leaving the club at the bottom of the table.

According to The Telegraph, some players have been puzzled by Arbeloa’s approach since his arrival, with concerns reportedly emerging during pre-season. Members of the squad believe the quality of training has fallen significantly compared with the standards set by his predecessor, Marco Silva.

The report also says there is dissatisfaction within the group over Arbeloa’s decision to bring in three long-standing associates from Real Madrid: Gonzalo Garcia, Cesar Palacios and Manuel Angel.

Some players are also understood to be unclear about why the manager has stopped relying on experienced central defender Joachim Andersen.
