‘I Wanted Pepe’s Jersey For My Son.’ Finidi George Explains Reason For Begging.

Super Eagles assistant coach Finidi George was on Thursday after Nigeria’s 4-0 defeat to Portugal seen on live coverage vehemently asking for the jersey of former Real Madrid defender, Pepe.

The Portuguese defender in response was seen explaining that Simon Moses (who later had the jersey) was the first to ask but coach Finidi kept asking passionately even when his trainee already had the jersey.

This did not go down well with most Nigerian fans not even when the Eagles were annihilated in a top friendly clash.

Finidi however according to sport journalist Sulaimon Pooja Adebayo addressed the uproar claiming the he wanted it for his son.

“Super Eagles' assistant manager Finidi George has responded to the viral video where he was seen "begging" for Pepe's jersey after the 4-0 thrashing of Nigeria.” Pooja tweeted.
