The life of a footballer in some ways can be linked to that of a tourist. They move from one City to another between different countries and continent.

During the moves, they experience different challenges while also gaining more knowledge.

From language barriers, food differences, which at times affect their health to occasional changes in weather conditions and lifestyle, one can say they go through a lot just to get a better life for themselves.

Also, when you look at it in another way, footballers get more exposure than any other profession one can imagine. Aside learning new languages, they also get to learn different cultures and meet at least a hundred new persons yearly depending on their level of professionalism.

The journey to that huge professional level started for former Bendel Insurance defender Tanimu Benjamin as he leaves Nigeria for Tanzania.

Spent five and half years flying the colours of Bendel Insurance, Tanimu Benjamin made a switch to Ihefu FC of Tanzania during the mid-season transfer window in what he termed a stepping stone to greatness while speaking exclusively to Nigeriasoccernet.com.

"I feel it's a stepping stone to greatness and I believe with hard work and dedication the next stop will be Europe."

Benjamin after making his debut for Ihefu FC in their 3-2 away win against Mtibwar Sugar believed the competition in Tanzania is high but declared himself ready for the battle.

"It was a great debut for me here and honestly I can't wish it was better. I know the competition is high but I'm battle ready."

Speaking on the weather and the environmental change, the former FA Cup winner added:

"The weather here is cool and very different from Benin City in Nigeria."

Ihefu FC currently sit 12th on the 16th team table and today they face Geita Gold who sit 13th, level on points with them and ahead of the game, Benjamin says:

"I am looking forward to a positive result in today's game against Geita Gold."
