Hull City manager Sergej Jakirovic says he cannot give a definite timeline for the return of Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi from injury, gathered by Nigeriasoccernet.com.

Ajayi sustained a hamstring problem in training shortly after impressing in Hull’s opening-day draw with Coventry City and has since missed the club’s last five matches.

The 30-year-old centre-back was also unavailable for Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa.

Speaking ahead of Hull’s Championship clash with Watford, Jakirovic revealed that the medical team is adopting a cautious approach.

“I don’t know, maybe 70–80 per cent [chance],” Jakirovic told the Yorkshire Post.
“Our doctors are very careful. They don’t want to push anybody. If you ask me, they’ll be ready, but I’m fighting all the time with them.”

Ajayi joined Hull City on a free transfer this summer after six years with West Bromwich Albion.
