Hearts of Oak coach Herbert Addo remains doubtful of his team’s ability to overturn the huge deficit against Esperance in the CAF Confederation Cup due to the wastefulness of his strikers.
The Phobians must overturn a massive 4-0 deficit when they host the Tunisian giants in Accra on Saturday to have any chances of progressing further in the Confederation Cup.
A tiny minority of Hearts fans remain defiant that the team can step up to the plate and conjure a miraculous comeback similar to feats chalked previously by the side in Africa.
And though coach Herbert Addo reserves some faint hopes of his team’s chances, the experienced trainer admits to the difficult task in reality especially with the profligacy of his team.
“It is possible [to go past Esperance] but I cannot predict,” he said.
“We keep missing goals – empty nets and all – so how can we score a lot of goals [against Esperance]?”
Hearts have enjoyed a fairy tale ride in the CAF Confederation Cup this term up until their crashing defeat to Esperance.
