Hearts of Oak assistant coach Dauda Lutterodt claims his team was unable to secure a win over AshantiGold due to fatigue.

The Phobians needed a late penalty to secure a 2-2 draw against the visiting Miners in their outstanding First Capital Plus League match played on Wednesday.

The outstanding league fixture came barely four days after the Accra-based side were bundled out of the CAF Confederation Cup by Esperance on a 5-1 aggregate scoreline.

Assistant coach Dauda Lutterodt believes the team had been drained from its rigorous encounter against the Tunisian giants on Saturday before facing AshGold.

“When we say fatigue sometimes there are so many things we cannot put in the public,” he said in explaining Hearts’ struggles to secure a draw against the Miners.

“You must also know that some of our players are also young and this goes down with mental strength and experience.”
