Heart of Lions have appointed Eric Kutortse as its first board chairman since the takeover by Randy Abbey.

The Accra-based contractor was confirmed as the head of the new board being formed by the Ghana Premier League club.

The appointment was confirmed by the club’s majority shareholder Randy Abbey on the eve of their Premier League match against Asante Kotoko.

“I am very happy to announce to you that Hearts of Lions Football Club of Kpando has a new board chairman and he is in the person of Mr. Eric Kutortse,” Abbey announced.

“He [Kutortse] told me he was not looking or asking for shares. We are young people and I believe in what we are doing [for the club].”

Kutortse is a native of Kpando and is now tasked with fashioning a policy for the club to be followed by management.

The new board will also be responsible for the taking of major decisions of the club.
