The Golden Eaglets goalkeeper at the just concluded FIFA U-17 World Cup, Akpan Udoh, has expressed his appreciation to the wife of the Ogun State Governor, Mrs. Olufunso Amosun, for her good gesture in encouraging him to develop his football potential.

Udoh said playing for Nigeria’s U-17 team was a great privilege, adding that he owed the success to God and to Mrs. Amosun, whom he described as “a great mother, motivator and discoverer of talents.”

The goalkeeper bared his heart when he paid an informal courtesy visit to Governor Ibikunle Amosun and Mrs. Amosun in Abeokuta over the weekend.

Udoh was received by some of his 2013 Under-15 Uplift  football team members.

The governor used the occasion to encourage other members of the uplift team to be determined.
