Ghanaian Premier League giants Accra Hearts of Oak have slapped young midfielder Issah Mumuni with a 30-day ban over a leaked audio tape.
Hearts of Oak, who recently sacked their head coach Herbert Addo for non-performance, have banned the 23-year-old former St Pauli triallist for discussing his financial standing with three of his colleagues in a leaked audio aired first by Accra-based Asempa FM.
Mumuni, like other Hearts of Oak players, have not receive a bonus, wage or a salary for than 16 weeks and following their home defeat to Hasaacas in a Premier League game, discussed how they have been demotivated by their financial situation which was secretly recorded.
The player, who joined Hearts of Oak before the start of the season from Ghanaian second-tier side Dreams FC, formally apologized for the incident in a written letter but Hearts have banned him in a written response.
Several Hearts of Oak's fans have chastised their management for the club's latest slumber questioning their management style in resolving issues at the club.
The 21-time Ghana Premier League champions are currently lying 12th on the league section and could slip further down in the relegation zone with tough league games ahead of them.
