Ghana U23 to play Egypt in two-legged friendly; head coach invites 16 players
Ghana’s U23 team will play their Egyptian counterparts in a two-legged this month.
The exhibition match is to prepare both sides for their 2015 CAF U-23 Championship and All-Africa Games qualifiers.
The first friendly is set to take place in Cairo on 13 January and the return leg fixed four days later at the same venue.
“The Olympic team will play two friendly matches against Ghana on 13 and 17 January in Cairo,” the Egyptian FA said in a statement on its official website.
“The two matches are part of the teams’ preparations for the 2015 All-Africa Games qualifiers and the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, Ghana coach Malik Jabir has named a 16-man squad to prepare for the match next week.
