BA United won their first match on their return to the Ghana top-flight with a hard-fought 1-0 win over ten-man Bechem United at the Coronation Park on Saturday.
Old-fashioned right-winger Isaac Danso snatched the match winner on 85 minutes when he fired past a clueless Ernest Adu, the Bechem goalkeeper, from 12 yards.
Winger Seth Paintsil, from inside the box, teed up Danso before the former Kessben FC player unleashed a powerful one which accrued the three points.
The goal was scored when BA United were in the driving seat and dominating possession following the sending off left-back Asante Agyemang.
Bechem came into the match with a 3-5-2 formation hatched by Bogdanovic Milisav and that worked for them in the first half when they created chances.
Winger John Nyamekye swept his chances from close range across the face of goal with his erratic shootings.
The Hunters had control in midfield with Noah Martey and Yaw Mensah working effectively and getting assist from captain Issa Adamu.
BA United lacked the cutting edge with inexperienced duo Mustapha Mohhamed, who was later substituted by Charles Oppong, and Serlom Geraldo.
Frimpong Manso’s side kept their cool and kept pushing until the goal was registered five minutes from time.
