Kazakhstan Premier League FC Irtysh Pavlodar are on the verge of announcing the signing of Gbolahan Salami, if we are to believe reports from the Kazakhstani press.

According to sports.kz, the Nigeria international has already signed a contract and the agreement is for two years.

Salami proved himself in two seasons at KuPS, scoring 29 goals in 69 appearances for the Finnish top-flight club.

Red Star Belgrade would have been his first club in Europe, but the transfer did not eventually work out.

Salami has played fourteen games for the Nigerian national team, netting four goals but has been in the international wilderness since his move to Finland in 2015.

The 26-year-old featured in a friendly between Europe All Stars XI and Westerlo Football Academy on Friday afternoon, along with international teammates Odion Ighalo, Victor Osimhen, Haruna Lukman, Sylvester Igboun and Oghenekaro Etebo
