FC IfeanyiUbah newly signed forward, Ismaila Gata has said he is keenly looking forward to the top-flight matchup at former side, Niger Tornadoes.

The former 3SC and Kwara United hitman was a standout for the newcomers in the first stanza of the top-flight before the midseason switch to the camp of the Anambra Warriors.

The Nnewi outfit will be the guests of Tornadoes in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 20 clash at the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja.

Gata said he likes the new challenges at the Nnewi outfit and will do his very best to justify the confidence the side reposed in him in the remainder of the season.

“Yes, it’s confirmed I am a player of FC IfeanyiUbah and will appear in their colours in the second stanza of the league.

“I was warmly welcomed to the camp of FC IfeanyiUbah, I liked what I met on ground, the offer as well as the challenges.

“The team told me outright that they want continental ticket in the ongoing top-flight and I have promised them successes.

“Right now we are almost heading off to Lokoja for the matchday 20 clash at former side, Niger Tornadoes.

“I’m excited and keenly looking forward to match day to unleash the whole arsenal on the Minna outfit.

“At least, I hope to score a brace in the encounter to kick start my stint at FC IfeanyiUbah on a happy note.

“We are professional and should see our present club as our home and do our best to ensure its success.

“I did my very best for Niger Tornadoes while the romance lasted now my loyalty is wholly with FC IfeanyiUbah and I will do my best to further the course of the side.

“I do not know whether or not I will celebrate my goals but the key for me is victory for my side,” said Gata to supersport.com.

FC IfeanyiUbah benched Niger Tornadoes 2-0 in the first fixture clash in Nnewi and will be itching for double after they ended their campaign in the first stanza on the 11th position on 27 points from 18 matches.
