Fortune Bassey moves to Czech side Viktoria Plzen on loan

Nigeria international Fortune Bassey will be a player of league champions Viktoria Plzen of Czech Republic after a loan agreement.

Bassey, 23 secured the loan move from Hungarian side Ferencvaros which sees him play for them till the end of the 2022/23 season.

Plzen welcomed the arrival of the player via their Twitter handle on Friday.

The former SK Dynamo SB player on his part is delighted to make the switch.

"It's great to be here, I want to experience big games and make the fans happy by scoring goals, that's why I'm coming to Pilsen!" Bassey said.

The player who is not new to life in Czech is braced up and cannot wait to be part of history in an ambitious club like Plzen.

"I know Viktoria very well, it's a big club with big ambitions. When this opportunity presented itself, I did not hesitate. It is a huge challenge for me, we have big matches in Europe and in the league ahead of us and I will do everything to be an asset to the team," were the striker's first words in his new place of work.

"Fortune showed in Bud?jovice that he is an excellent striker. He has the necessary speed, dynamism and good finishing," said head coach Michal Bílek in his address.

He will join training immediately after his arrival and should be available to take a parr in Saturday's league duel with Hradec Králové.
