Former NPFL top-scorer retires from Football

Former Akwa United striker, Akarandut Orok, has announced his retirement from professional football, Nigeriasoccernet.com gathered.

Orok, one of the household names in the Nigeria Professional Football League won the top scorer award in the 2008/2009 season with 17 goals.

His retirement announcement came on Sunday at the age of 35.

Orok during his playing days featured in the Tunisian Ligue One, United Arab Emirates and also in Bahrain.

He has been appointment as one of the backroom staffs of Akwa United ahead of the new season.
