Flying Eagles Through To U-20 AFCON Qualifiers

Nigeria's Flying Eagles will not take part in the first round of the Zambia 2017 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers as they drew a bye into the second round.

According to cafonline, aside from the 2015 African champions, the likes of Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Congo, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Senegal, South Africa and Egypt also drew a bye at the First Round.

Meanwhile, twenty (20) teams will be involved this weekend in the opening round of the qualifiers for the 2017 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.

Starting from Friday 1st April, Tunisia will host Niger Republic. While on Saturday, Sierra Leone will face Gambia, Rwanda will entertain Uganda and Mauritius will be guests to Mozambique.

And on Sunday, Algeria and Mauritania will slug it out, Ethiopia will do battle with Somalia and Liberia and Guinea will try each other for size.

The second leg matches of the qualifiers will take place on the weekend of 22-24 April 2016.

The Flying Eagles are the reigning U-20 Africa Cup of Nations champions, after they won the 2015 edition in Senegal.
