Head coach of Dominican Republic U-20 side, Walter Benitez says his team is working underground on how to face the Flying Eagles of Nigeria at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World cup in Argentina, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Caribbean team will for the first time take part in the tournament in May when they face Nigeria in their first group game.

Walter Benitez says the team will go all out for a win against Nigeria in their opening Mendoza on May 21.

“We have to study Italy and Nigeria, which is our first rival to try to find the best ways and get to those games with the best weapons and try to get the best possible result,” Benitez said.

“The important thing is that we are all very happy because we are getting closer to the objective, which is to arrive at that event in the best way and with the best disposition.”

Aside the Flying Eagles, the Dominican Republic will also confront five-time winners Brazil and Italy in Group D.

The competition, which will be hosted by Argentina, will run from May 20 to June 11.
