"Feels great to have made the Super Falcons" Plumptre celebrates her national team recall
Nigeria defender Ashleigh Plumptre has expressed her excitement after being named in the Super Falcons' squad for the upcoming international friendly against France, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The 25-year-old centre-back has been sidelined for several months with an ACL injury, which forced her to miss the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
However, Plumptre has made a successful recovery and has been included in interim head coach Justine Madugu's 20-player squad for the clash with Les Bleues on Sunday.
An elated Plumptre took to social media to celebrate her return to the team, saying: "Feels great to have made the Super Falcons list for the upcoming international games. Good opportunity to fight for the badge again."
Plumptre has made 17 appearances for Nigeria and will be looking to add to her caps against France.
