Players of the Nigeria U-20s were asked to return jerseys they used against Burundi in the first leg of their U-20 Africa Youth Championship qualifiers against Burundi. The players were given just one pair of training kit since the beginning of camping which has forced them into wearing their various dresses as house wear in camp as oppose to the usual Nike branded house wear.
Furthermore they wash and wear their training kits as they were giving just one and they use same vest for journeys out of their camp like when they went to Bujumbura.
This revelation is coming hot on the heels of a denial by the Nigeria Football Federations that players of the Super Eagles didn’t use wash and wear kits during friendly games against Mali and Luxembourg.
Our reporter in Calabar who witnessed today’s training reports that the team trained late today no thanks to heavy downpour which prevented them from leaving their hotel early for the training pitch.
They will on Saturday take on Burundi in the second leg of AYC 2017 qualifiers where they currently hold a 1-0 lead courtesy of the victory they got three weeks ago thanks to a goal by Chukwudi Agor.
