Ghana attacker David Accam has expressed joy at his debut goal for the Black Stars in a 7-1 hammering of Mauritius on Sunday.

The 24-year-old was introduced as late substitute for Leicester City attacker Jeffrey Schlupp and he added his name to the score-sheet scoring the seventh goal with a clean low drive from inside box.

Accam had not scored in four appearances for the Black Stars since marking his debut in Ghana’s 1-0 loss against Uganda in November 2014.

But his superior club form which saw him find the back of the net twice in two games before flying down to Accra for the qualifier propelled him to score his debut goal for Ghana.

He expressed his excitement to GHANAsoccernet.com after the game: "I'm really excited to score my first international goal."

Accam was not the only player who scored his debut on the afternoon as Leicester City's Jeffrey Schlupp also scored for Avram Grant's side.
