Nigeria international and former Rangers International and Lobi Stars player, Ani Elijah is set to complete his nationality switch from Nigeria to Rwanda, Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.

The Rwanda Football League joint top scorer opted to play for Rwanda instead of his country of origin, Nigeria after the Rwanda Football Association discussed with him.

"Yes, I have been approached by the authorities and I am ready to play for Rwanda. It will be a big dream come true for me," Ani had told Times Sport some days ago.

The Bugesera FC striker Elijah Ani has now joined Amavubi Squad at the Ntare School ground in Bugesera, the camp for preparations for upcoming 2026 World Cup double header against Benin and Lesotho in June.

Rwandan news outlets report Elijah left his club to complete papers to make the switch permanent.
