Hearts goalkeepers’ trainer Edward Ansah admits Seidu Mutawakilu is going through confidence-crisis but remains confident he will re- establish himself as one of the best shot-stoppers in the country.

The performance of the 19-year-old at the recently concluded African Youth Championship has come under the microscope with heightened talks he’s not cut for a top club like Hearts.

The tall goalkeeper was dropped for the semi-final defeat against West Africa rivals Nigeria following his questionable performances in the group phase.

“I heard the reports that his (Mutawakilu) confidence has dropped and I think we have to work on his psyche. He is a young goalkeeper so we do not need to break him,” he said

“I didn’t watch him but the reports are suggesting he didn’t do so well. He is going through some confidence crisis and we’re working to ensure he regains his confidence.”

The Right to Dream product has struggled to impress since he  cross-carpet from Kotoko to sign for Hearts.
