After 23 years away from the Premier League, Nottingham Forest are keen on not going back to the championship as they have not only acquired Taiwo Awoniyi but also Manchester United goalie, Dean Hendersonn on loan and are eyeing a move for Liverpool's Neco Williams.

The switch by the 24 year old from German side Union Berlin to English side Nottingham Forest has birthed contrasting opinions from supporters.

Many believe Awoniyi leaving Union Berlin for Nottingham Forest is a huge step down and realistically they have a point as the Nigerian left European football for supposedly a relegation battle. Awoniyi could be playing the championship in the 2023/2024 season if Nottingham forest fail to stay up and that is one thing most supporters don't want.

Nevertheless, there is a silver lining in Awoniyi's move. In moving to the Premier League, which is regarded by many as the best league in the world, it gives him the spotlight and popularity and also serves as a great platform to improve his  game all round which will benefit the Super Eagles when he's on International Duty.

Nigeriasoccernet predicts that Taiwo Awoniyi will have a good season like his fellow compatriots had done with more or less bottom table clubs. Odion Ighalo did well at Watford and also Emmanuel Dennis last season at the same Watford despite the club getting relegated.

Taiwo Awoniyi is a great talent and Nigeriasoccernet believes he will shine bright in the Premier League.
