Head Coach of the Nigeria U-17 team Manu Garba in a chat with his former ward at U-17 level Kelechi Iheanacho told the Manchester City Star he has found his replacement in a certain kid called Onyeama. Iheanacho visited the coach who gave him his career breakthrough in Abuja last week and during talks about the latest discovery in the Nigeria U-17 team who just recently concluded their screening, the coach mentioned Onyeama to the City teen star.
Onyeama is a 17 year old, who is also a left footer like Iheanacho but beyond that he runs,plays and score goals in a similar fashion to the 19 year old Iheanacho who had his breakthrough season at Manchester City last season.
Manu Garba rates Onyeama so highly and he is presently the favourite to be named captain of the team going by his commanding performances for the two weeks the screening lasted.
On his part, the talented teen who is reportedly from a football academy in Lagos will be hoping to reach if not surpass the achievement Iheanacho had at U-17 level which has followed him to Manchester City where he is a fan favourite.
