The Houston Dynamo continue the defence of their US Open Cup title when they entertain Minnesota United FC on Tuesday evening.
It is one of two ties that are to be played on Tuesday in the Round of 16 with the Columbus Crew facing Atlanta United FC in the other match. Houston avoided the upset in the fourth round when they defeated Austin Bold FC 3-2 at the BBVA Compass Stadium. The Dynamo had eased to a three-goal advantage at half time before holding off a spirited comeback attempt from the USL team.
Meanwhile, Minnesota United moved into the fifth round by getting the better of Sporting Kansas City. Darwin Quintero scored twice for Minnesota in the 4-1 triumph at Allianz Field in St Paul.
The Minnesota vs. Kansas City match was one of five all-MLS games in the fourth round with the New England Revolution, DC United, Los Angeles FC and the Portland Timbers getting the better of the New York Red Bulls, Philadelphia Union, Real Salt Lake and the Seattle Sounders respectively.
In Tuesday's other game Atlanta travel to Columbus to face the Crew. Both teams made it through by beating lower league opposition with Atlanta defeating the Charleston Battery and Columbus topping the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.
The other five games fifth-round matches will take place on Wednesday. Two USL teams have made it through with Saint Louis FC, conquerors of the Chicago Fire, facing FC Cincinnati while New Mexico United, who upset the Colorado Rapids, now taking on FC Dallas.
