Savvied Ghanaian international winger Dominic Oduro has retorted he is in no rush to make a return to the pitch from a groin injury which is expected to rule him out for weeks.
The Montreal Impact ace, 29, had a MRI scan to assess the extent of the injury he suffered in Impact’s 4-1 win Saturday over Real Salt Lake.
As Oduro explained, he tried to get past left back Demar Phillips, his left leg "pulled back," but was giving nothing away when speaking to the press on Wednesday morning and now he will be tethered awaiting confirmation from Impact's doctors he can return to the field.
"The MRI was positive," Oduro told reporters.
"I just want to take it day by day. Me getting healthy is more important, right now, than trying to rush it to the field.
"I’m just trying, as much as possible, to get my rehab, get better, get fit, and when the time is right, I’ll be able to get out there. When, I don’t know, but I just want to take it day by day."
Oduro is expected to bring his vast experience in the MLS to bare for Impact this season but is definitely miss a couple of games before returning to the pitch.
The Accra-born who has yet to be capped by Ghana has netted twice in all competitions this season for Impact, one - the consolation strike against Portland Timbers and the other - Impact's 3-2 win over Toronto FC in the Canadian Championship.
