French-born Ghanaian defender Dennis Appiah provided a crucial assist for Caen as they frustrated French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain to a 2-2 draw in the French top-flight league on Saturday.
The 22-year-old who was playing as right full-back impressively set his side on the road to claiming a point from the Parc des Princes when his visionary low pass found Emiliano Sala and the Argentine gleefully struck with his first goal for Caen since his January loan move from Girondins de Bordeaux to reduce the visitors' deficit.
Bazile, who had come off the bench midway through the first half, lined up a free-kick just outside the box. His firmly-struck effort flashed past a motionless Sirigu to leave a bemused Paris a point behind OL, who travel to FC Lorient on Sunday.
PSG had taken firm control of the game with world football legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ezequiel Lavezzi scoring twice in the first half for the giants.
But with just two minutes of normal time left to play, Appiah and his colleagues piled pressure of their host with the former AS Monaco defender setting up his team-mate to halve the deficit in the 89th minute before Bazile levelled moments later.
Appiah was born to Ghanaian parents in France and is eligible to play for West African giants Ghana as well as his country of birth France.
