Manchester City star Kevin de Bruyne feels it will be hard to top the points tally of last season but claims consistency will be key to retaining their Premier League crown.
It took 98 points to win the Premier League last season, with City pipping Liverpool by a single point to the English crown.
Many suggest it could be another epic tussle between the two clubs for the title this season but De Bruyne feels it will be tough for City to top their efforts from last term.
As long as City simply do better than their opponents, then that's enough for the Belgian international.
"We don't need to beat the last two seasons - maybe we can win this season with 85 points," De Bruyne told reporters.
"It is not about improving, it is about staying consistent, trying to be there every game, trying to win every game. It is not always about doing better, because how can you do better sometimes?
"To win every year what we won the last two years is going to be pretty difficult, but it is good to be there."
City are 1/2 to win the Premier League this season, while Liverpool are 13/5 to claim the title.
