Cote d’Ivoire showed class again tonight to topple the Golden Eaglets as WAFU B champions in the final of the sub-regional U17 qualifiers in Lome, Togo.

The Ivorians defeated Nigeria 3-2 after they also pipped them by the odd goal in the group stage of this competition.

However, both teams have already qualified for the U17 AFCON in Morocco in July.

The classy Ivorians shot ahead after 15 minutes, before they doubled their lead on the hour.

Seydou Traore made it 3-0 on 84 minutes.

Nigeria then staged a late fight back with substitute striker Ahmed Abdullahi nicking a brace, but it was too little too late for the defending champions.

Burkina Faso placed third after they pipped Niger 10-9 on penalties after both teams played out a 1-1 in regulation time.
