Chrestinah Kgatlana and Lebohang Ramalepe scored in each half as Banyana Banyana beat Mali 2-0 in their Tuesday’s semi-final match to set up a final date with eternal rivals Super Falcons Nigeria on Saturday in Accra.

The Banyana Banyana had earlier defeated the Super Falcons in the opening Group B game at the tournament

This is the fourth time South Africa reached the final of the Africa’s flagship women’s football competition

And Desiree Ellis and her charges are seeking to make history by winning the AWCON 2018 title after suffering defeats in three previous finals to Nigeria in 2000, before suffering defeats to Equatorial Guinea in 2008 and four years later.

“We will celebrate tonight and start preparing for the final. We are not a team that talk much in the media,” Ellis told CAF.com after Banyana Banyana’s semifinal win.

“We will work together as a team and plan again. And hope to execute the plan because that’s all it is about. We have never won the Women’s AFCON and we are going to give it shot and see what happens on the weekend.”

Title holders Nigeria earlier on Tuesday edged Cameroon 4-2 on penalties in the other AWCON 2018 semi-final game in Accra.
