Club America are currently trying to strengthen the squad for the upcoming season, and with the imminent departures of Sergio Diaz and Nicolas Benedetti, the midfield is certainly one of the more critical areas tha will need to be addressed this transfer window.

In this regard, according to reports in Mexican media, one of the names on the list for America's midfield would be that of Argentine Ezequiel Barco. The current Atlanta United player has been a target for the Mexican giants in the past, when Miguel Herrera was managing Las Aguilas, who decided at that time to stay in the MLS to continue his career, but never closed the door to a possible transfer to the azulcremas

Barco is now in his final contract year with Atlanta United, something that has opened the door once again for America, who could potentially snag him as a free transfer after this year. However, America has to free up a spot on their foreign list, something the Mexico City Club is looking to do in the upcoming weeks before trying to finally bring Barco to Coapa.
