Not just Vigo, Real Sociedad has also emerged as a potential suitor for West Bromwich Albion forward Josh Maja, joining Celta Vigo in the race for the Nigerian striker, according to reports from Super Deporte.

The Spanish club, which already boasts Nigerian international Sadiq Umar in their squad, has identified Maja as a potential reinforcement for their attacking line ahead of the upcoming January transfer window.

West Bromwich Albion, under the stewardship of Carlos Corberan, have enjoyed a commendable start to the 2024/25 Championship season. With six wins and seven draws from their first 15 matches, the Baggies have positioned themselves as strong contenders for promotion.

A key figure in their impressive form has been Nigerian striker Josh Maja. The forward has consistently excelled in various attacking metrics and has been a reliable presence leading the line. However, with the recent reports suggest a possible departure, West Brom will undoubtedly suffer a huge loss.

Celta Vigo's willingness to meet West Brom's valuation of the player presents a significant challenge for the Baggies hierarchy. Losing their star striker mid-season could significantly impact their promotion aspirations. Maja has been instrumental in their attacking output, and his absence could hinder their ability to secure a coveted Premier League spot.
