The Nigerian side lost 3-1 to the Congolese side after extra time at the Laarbi Zaouli - Casablanca Stadium, after the game finished 1-1 at the regulation time.

After a goalless affair in the first half, TP Mazembe opened the score earlier in the second half, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

However, Edo Queens got ahead through Emem Essien, who looped the ball over the goalkeeper on 65 minutes.

TP Mazembe put a dagger in the hearts of the Nigerian ladies through Kanjinga Nangunji in the 90th minute pushing the match into an extra time.

The Congolese side got into the lead for the first time through an own goal by Comfort Folorunsho scored in the 101 minute.

Marlene Kasai converted from the penalty spot eight minutes later to put the game beyond Moses Aduku’s side.

Edo Queens will now seek to match the record of Bayelsa Queens who are the only Nigerian team to get to the third place and win the bronze match when they play FC Masar who lost 2-1 to AS FAR Ladies.
