The Pride of Rivers piped FC Les Aigles du Congo at the Godswill Akpabio Intl Stadium, Uyo, to reach the second round of the prestigious competition.

A goal at the brink of the first half by Stephen Manyo was enough to earn Rivers United a 1-0 win and a 1-0 aggregate win in both legs.

It was a different case for other teams representing Nigeria, like Kwara United and Abia Warriors, as they lost to Djoliba and Asante Kotoko, respectively.

Ghanaian club, Asante Kotoko, beat Nigerian club, Kwara United, 1-0 (5-3 on aggregate) to qualify for the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
