The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) is hosting a three-day National Safety and Security Officers Symposium in Cairo, Egypt, from October 29th to 31st, 2024.
As Nigeriasoccernet.com gathered, this event aims to promote a culture of safe stadiums across the African continent by bringing together 54 National Safety and Security Officers from various African nations.
The symposium, led by CAF's Head of Safety and Security, Dr. Christian Emeruwa, emphasizes the importance of ensuring the safety of players, officials, supporters, and VIPs at football matches. It will provide participants with modern perspectives on stadium management and match execution.
Renowned experts from FIFA, UEFA, NFIP, and the European Group of Football Police will share their expertise and best practices with the participants. The symposium will cover essential aspects of successful football match organization, including crowd control, emergency response, and risk assessment.
By bringing together experts and practitioners from across Africa, the symposium aims to strengthen inter-African collaboration and improve safety standards at football events. This will ultimately contribute to football development in Africa and ensure a safer environment for all involved.
