Wolfsburg reclaimed the top position in the Bundesliga rankings with a 1-0 win over fellow Champions League team RB Leipzig at home on Sunday, maintaining their perfect record.

Soon after the interval, Wolfsburg took the lead when left-back Jerome Roussillon was the first to react to a loose ball.

Wolfsburg scored after winning the ball back from Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi's long throw and moving it to the left-wing.

Renato Steffen, a Swiss winger, whipped in a low cross that Gulacsi could only deflect into Roussillon's path, who slammed home his first Bundesliga goal in two years.

Wolfsburg is the only team in Germany's top division to have won all three games this season under new coach Mark van Bommel.

Marcel Sabitzer, the Leipzig captain, was left out of the matchday squad amid rumours that he is set to join Bayern Munich.
