Boban: Marseille offered twice as much as Milan

Former Croatia midfielder Zvonimir Boban has recalled turning down a significantly more lucrative offer from Marseille to join Milan in the early 1990s.

Marseille, led at the time by its eccentric president Bernard Tapie, offered Boban twice as much money as Milan. Despite the financial difference, he chose the Italian club.

Boban played for Milan from 1991 to 2002.
