The Black Stars returned to training on Monday evening without their captain Asamoah Gyan and the eleven players that started the quarter final game against Guinea.

Gyan has been flown to Mongomo to take an MRI scan to ascertain the severity of his suspected groin injury sustained at the tail end of Sunday's win over the Syli National.

Coach Avram Grant presided over the session at the Lapaz Training Facility in Malabo with ten outfield players.

Substitute goalkeepers Fatau Dauda and Ernest Sowah also took part in the session.

The players were taking through some physical drills before engaging themselves in some tactical work later on in the session.

Ghana’s preparations ahead of their 2015 AFCON semi final clash against hosts Equatorial Guinea is gradually hitting top gear.

All players – including the ones rested on Monday – are expected to return to full scale training on Tuesday barring any injuries.
